About the Art Classes
studio style
Our Studio-style Art Classes are designed to be fun, experimental, and tailored to your creative interests. Each session, you decide what you want to create, and we guide you through the process while helping you develop your skills. Along with traditional art materials like watercolours, oil paint, charcoal, and pastels, we also provide a range of eco-friendly and natural materials for you to explore, paints using natural pigments, natural inks, and dip pens. We are here to help bring your artistic vision to life.
plein Air- painting outdoors
Discover the joy of painting outdoors in these relaxed, beginner-friendly classes. We will head to the beautiful Russel Park (behind Sunshine Art School) to explore the art of Plein Air painting (painting outdoors).
These classes are studio-style, meaning you choose what you’d like to paint — whether a landscape or local flora — and which medium you’d like to work with, such as oils, watercolour, pastels, and more. We will guide and support you throughout the process. You’ll learn how to choose a subject using a view finder, create strong compositions in your sketches, complete quick 5-minute tonal studies, and much more.
We’ll meet at Sunshine Art School at 9:30am to gather art materials, then take a short stroll to the park together. If the weather isn’t suitable, there are undercover areas at the park, or we’ll hold the class in the studio at Sunshine Art School.
