about the art club:

The longer hours are designed to give teens time to connect with one another and develop genuine friendships while exploring their creativity.

Each day begins with exploring the world of art — from creating handmade art journals and making our own paints from natural pigments, to visiting local galleries in Montville, and learning how to create beautiful still life artworks inspired by the world around us. We’ll learn all about nature journaling and botanical art and will explore a variety of mediums from watercolours, charcoal, oil paints, natural inks and more.

At lunchtime, from 12:30pm – 1:30pm, we will (weather permitting) walk to the beautiful Russell Park behind the school and enjoy a peaceful picnic together under the pecan nut trees. This is a lovely time for the teens to rest, connect with fellow students, and share lunch in a calm outdoor setting before returning for the afternoon art session.

After Lunch we’ll have a Studio-Style Art session, where each teen gets to choose a medium, and subject they feel passionate about, and we’ll guide and help them through it

Please bring a packed healthy lunch (or buy a takeaway from a local cafe), water bottle, hat, warm jumper and a piece of fruit to share.

Fi has a qualifications in both Fine Art and Steiner Education and worked in Steiner Schools for many years.
